Our programs

General Services Foundation has two main programs to assist high schoolers based in North Carolina. This is to start initiatives and get involved in the nonprofit world.

ACT & ADVANCE

Students can become members of General Services Foundation, where they can get involved in ongoing initiatives or start their own! The GSF board will assist students with the planning and initial costs associated with starting a passion project.

The Young nonprofit fellowship

Through this program, students will intern with their given nonprofit for the duration of the school year. Alongside their internship, fellows choose a large-scale project (named the Impact Initiative) that they will be completing for their nonprofit, read books to implement in their internship, write a blog article compiling their experience in the fellowship, and show their hard work off at the end of the program at the Impact Showcase.

The goal of this program is to connect high school students with a passion for our community to nonprofits. Students will be able to get experience in a professional setting, learn important skills, and explore careers in this sector while making a long-term impact on one mission. These students will intern and execute a large-scale project while learning life skills they can take with them.

If you are a high-schooler in the RTP area interested in taking on a nonprofit internship, take a look at the information sheet!

Applications are OPEN for 2023-2024!
