Students in Service

General Services Foundation is hosting a campaign named Students in Service to teach elementary and middle school students how to host drives in their local community. General Services Foundation will host sessions at local businesses and nonprofits to teach kids how to host drives for one of 3 local nonprofits - Note in the Pocket, PORCH Raleigh, and Book Harvest. We provide students with toolkits equipped with flyers, information about the nonprofit they are supporting, and steps on successfully completing the drive!

Students can drop off the items during our Strength in Numbers Event on September 30th at Marbles Kids Museum. For those unable to attend, we can arrange a plan for them to drop off their items as well.

hosting a session

Interested in having a General Services Foundation member visit your business location to host a session teaching kids how to host their own drive? A General Services Foundation member will visit your location to teach kids how to host their own drive, one of the simplest and most fun service projects. General Services Foundation will provide each kid with a toolkit that outlines the steps and provides materials to successfully complete the drive.

Your business/location can also choose to host a drive as a group, and donate all that is collected at our Strength in Numbers event on September 30th at the Marbles Kids Museum. Use the link below to send us an email if you are interested.

Strength in numbers

Strength In Numbers is a community-wide event taking place on September 30th at Marbles Kids Museum, and you are invited! We will have food trucks, vendors, community partners, kid-friendly service activities, and loads of fun for everyone to enjoy. Kids will be able to fill a truck with the items they collected over the summer and learn firsthand about the cause they supported with their drive. We encourage those who did not host a drive to attend as well!
